Charity United Methodist Church is nestled in the beautiful city of Virginia Beach, VA.  Our church is one of the early Methodist Churches in Virginia located in the town of Pungo which is known for its famous Strawberry Festival.  Over our 234 year history, Charity UMC has remained a vibrant Christian community that believes in making disciples for the transformation of the world.  Our congregation has a healthy balance of children, youth, families, and retired saints who have shown us how to love God and love one another.

Charity United Methodist Church is a community believers committed to Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, united in love of God, and  called to make that love real to others.

The heart of Charity Church is to follow Jesus, follow His will, and seek His glory by going where Jesus goes and doing what Jesus does.

Focused on the life, words, way and Spirit of Jesus proclaimed in the New Testament.

Biblically rooted:

Encouraging spiritually-alive, faithful study of the Bible using tools of devotion and scholarship that are appropriate to a diverse body of people.

A joyful, loving, laughing congregation that experiences the grace of God in Jesus Christ in personal and positive ways.

A place where people search, think, question and honestly express their growing experience of the faith in an accepting and affirming atmosphere.

Continuing the strong sense of mission that has been part of our identity, both in terms of mission to the city and mission in the world.

As part of the United Methodist Church, we see ourselves as a leader/supporter of the global ministries in which we share.
